4 Ways To Avoid Camel Toe

We’ve all been there: you get your outfit ready for a workout session, stop by the mirror before you run out the door, and whip out your phone for an #OOTD. You then realise, horror of horrors, that you’re showing a camel toe!

Besides not being the most visually pleasing, a camel toe might also mean that your leggings might be too snug for it to be showing off what it isn’t supposed to. We have our (tried and tested) tips for if you find yourself in this sticky situation.

1. Wear darker tones

The easiest trick in the book is to just wear darker toned leggings. This tip is especially helpful if you’re  buying leggings online! If you’re really not sure how it’ll look, but really like the design of a pair of leggings, opt for a darker tone.

Darker tones would make any potential camel toes hard to see, and can easily match any outfit. If you’re looking for a top to match your leggings, get a top that is longer, or one with a ‘U’ cut. Like ol’ Grandma Liv used to say- if you can’t beat the camel toe, hide it.

2. Find the right size for you

This goes without saying if you’re buying from a physical store- pick the size that fits you the best! Sizes are relative most of the time anyway, so don’t get hung up over the fact that you might not fit into the size you want. Your comfort is what’s most important!

If you’re buying from an online store, check to see if there is a  size guide that you can use to measure yourself at home. It might be a little more work, but it is well worth it to get it right, instead of having to risk camel toe or, worse, the hassle of a return.

3. Wear a panty liner

Looking for a quick fix? Slap on a panty liner! Placing a panty liner higher up your underwear is the fastest way to get rid of a camel toe. Some even opt for a pad when their  leggings ride too high up their crotch.

Not only does it make your camel toe disappear, it also keeps you feeling fresh after a sweaty workout. A win-win for sure!

4. Avoid leggings with a middle seam

Many leggings have a seam that goes right up the middle, which unfortunately does nothing to help a camel toe. To prevent this, avoid buying leggings with a middle seam, especially if you’re prone to camel toe.  Seamless leggings have gained popularity because of this too!

Leggings with a middle seam are also more prone to tearing at the crotch area, which is probably the only thing worse than a camel toe. So keep your eyes peeled for leggings without a middle seam the next time you’re out shopping!

Besides  leggings, these tips can also be applied to  biker shorts too! And well… if all else fails, there’s always the option to  switch to shorts, or  something else completely. We wish you the most flawless of fits, LIVLOLA fam!
