3 Ways To Rock Your Bra Top
by Natashya Khoo on Nov 11, 2021
Here’s the thing about bra tops. They look good. They feel good. They keep the girls in place. We don’t know about you, but that sounds worthy of recognition. And yet here most of us are hiding our bra tops under a baggy t-shirt, removing said t-shirt off only at the gym, and then putting it back on after a sweat sesh?
The audacity, honestly.
I know it sounds like a bra top is writing this, but enough is enough. We hide our bra tops no longer! Here are three simple aesthetics that’ll help you style your bra top outside of the gym.
1. The on-the-go look
On the go and don’t have the time to get all dolled up? Same, bestie- we’re just trying to make it to that post-gym brunch too. For starters, wearing a matching set from the get go is one of the easiest ways to elevate your look. Grab a denim jacket to tie around your waist- denim matches all colours, while giving you some cover up too.
It might sound like common sense to match the rest of your fit with your bra top, but aim for similar shades rather than the exact same one. Complete the look with neutral colours- white sneakers, beige duffel bag, and you’re ready to go!
2. The casual-chic look
For a look that can take you from the studio to the street, consider a bra tank for a chill vibe. A button-down blouse is a versatile add-on to your outfit- sling it around your waist, over your shoulders, around your shoulders, as outerwear… the possibilities are endless! Consider a sheer blouse to show off your top too.
Instead of carrying your bulky gym bag around, opt for a separate sling bag with the essentials in it. Free your feet from the shackles of sneakers with a pair of sandals, and complete the look with sunnies and a cute analog watch.
3. The sporty look
Sporty, colourful, fun- that’s so you, girl! The first rule of matching bold colours is to understand complementary colours, which are colours on opposite sides of the colour wheel. Some pairings include blue and orange, red and green, and yellow and purple.
Still unsure? Pair your bright bra top with a black or white bomber jacket (plus points if it has a pop of colour). Add a colourful cap, bright sneakers and a drawstring bag, and you’re all set! This look is great for a morning hike and breakfast after; it has everything you need, while not compromising on style.
